We were invited by Pathfinder Agassi to stay at their camping resort so we jumped at the opportunity. We wanted to stay in the area: Harrison Hot Springs is nearby, along with Sandpiper golf course, two places on our list to visit.

Our trip
We arrived at Pathfinder on Tuesday and planned to visit Harrison Village the same day. We had golf booked for Wednesday and wanted to visit Agassiz as well. Harrison is only an 8 minute drive away, so once we were set up and had a chance to check out the park we headed out to explore.

Wow, has Harrison grown since I was last there 25 years ago! They recently redeveloped the swimming lagoon with a beautiful sandy beach, pedestrian path and lots of beach activities around. The village now has several condo developments and these extra people have helped grow the number of shops and restaurants. There is even an inflatable water park!

Wednesday morning we woke up and enjoyed a slow morning before heading out to Sandpiper golf course, about a 10 minutes drive away. The golf course is amazing, and with the threat of rain in the forecast, it was not very busy. We were not even paired up with other golfers.

We walked the relatively flat course known for its challenging greens. The incredible views as you play along the Harrison River, against the backdrop of mountains, made the challenge worth it. We had a successful round and stayed dry the whole time.
That evening we went back to Harrison Village for Greek food and an evening walk before enjoying a campfire back at the site.

Campground Details
Pathfinder Agassiz is a small campground located a short drive from Agassiz and Harrison Village. It has 32 sites, most are full hook ups, as well as 8 cabins. The campground is set up as a square with sites around the perimeter. Most sites back onto the center green space.

We camped alone this trip and relished the peace-and-quiet. The campground’s great community space is set up perfectly for camping with others. With both camping and cabin options, it makes the perfect group getaway and the variety of activities makes it suitable for all ages!

We stayed in site # 3 at the back of the square; across from the playground and open park space.

This campground is pet and family friendly. It has a playground, greenspace and pool along with a small off-leash dog park for your furry family members.

For longer stays or wet towels it has a laundry and shower house. The office also has a small store for essentials.
Site Summary
Sites 2-9: all a good size with shrubs separating each for privacy. They are wide enough to accommodate a tip out, awning and still leave ample room for a fire and picnic table. All these sites are across from the green space.

Sites 10 & 11: smaller and have shrubs on all side offering privacy from site 9. These sites are across from a forested area
Site 12: I would avoid this site. It lacks privacy and is very small.
Site 13 & 14: smaller sites but have a nice grass area behind and are close to the shower house if that is important (video of sites 11-14
Site 23 – 29: have trees at the back but they back onto Lougheed highway so have the noise that comes with that. They are a good size and also have privacy shrubs separating them.
Site 30 & 31: sites I would avoid. They are on either side of the entrance road and lack privacy. 31 would be very difficult to get an RV into due to a large tree at the entrance
Site 32: also along Lougheed highway but looks very easy for a large unit to back into because the perimeter road lines up perfectly with its ‘driveway’ and because it’s a long site
Sites 15 – 18: smaller RV/tent sites are private with shrubs on all sides and a fence at the back.
Sites 21 & 22: I would avoid. They are at the entrance and headlights would hit these sites every time a vehicle entered at night.
Sites 19 & 20 are good sites, back onto the pool and any noise that might come with it. I am picturing an endless game of Marco/Polo during happy hour, but that’s showing my age.
