With so much awareness around sun exposure, more and more products are being offered that allow you enjoy the outdoors while reducing the rays.
This year we planned ahead and brought more shade with us. We purchased the COOLCOOLDEE Pool Lounge Float from Amazon to try out. It appeared to be the best of both worlds, a large floating lounger with a removable UPF50+ canopy.

As you can see from many of my campground post, we love to float! Each summer we head to the Okanagan to enjoy the hot weather and float in their beautiful lakes. Blair is more sun sensitive than I am and even with 60 sunscreen he needs to head to the shade on shore in order to escape a sunburn.

The canopy has mesh on the sides to help with airflow and can be removed or added easily. It also has clips on the side to adjust how much coverage you want and to pull back completely for full sun or to help with getting on and off.

For an added bonus it has a deep cup holders (that even holds a Yeti) and a phone holder (the cell phone dry bag was also included). After one season of using this floatie it was a win for sure.
On the topic of shade, our friends bought the floating island from Costco with the sunshade. This addition is a huge upgrade. We could float as group for hours and avoid too much sun exposure. The trick here is to anchor it on two side to position the cover for optimal shade.

I liked the added shade so much I am hoping to get a Double Lounger with a Canopy. The only down side is I can only find one with one cup holder.Let me know if you have found a better option to get shade on the water.
