Nairn Falls Hike – Pemberton, BC

Hike number 2 on our 7 day hiking trip was Nairn Falls located just south of Pemberton. We had set up camp at Nairn Falls Provincial Park for one night so we needed a short hike in the morning before we had to check out. The hike from the parking lot to the falls is only 1.5 km so it fit the bill just right. It was also an easy hike and because we were all recovering from our Joffre Lake hike the day before it seemed perfect.

imageWe headed out to the trail and found a well marked, easy to walk route. It was followed high on the rivers edge and provided great views of the mountains and river. It was a beautiful hike and easy on the legs.

As we approached the falls the roaring of the water was impressive. The park has built platforms around the falls area to provide some great viewing areas. There are a couple of platforms at different spots so that you can see the falls from all angles. We took the appropriate tourist photos, enjoyed the views and once again marvelled at the beauty of our province. It was then time to head back. The trail is a “there and back” route so off we went.image

On the way back we could see the RV’s that were lucky enough to get the view sites at the campground. It is clear why these sites book up so fast, the views really are spectacular. The entire hike took us about 45 minutes which included photos and observation time. It was a great start to the morning and a great end to our Pemberton visit.

      3. I know Alaska is having a worse fire year than 2004, which was an awful year for them. I hope you get some rain as well!
